at Warren Station in Keystone- it’s FREE!
Early season snow conditions are amazing!!!!
All Summit Ski Areas will be open on Thanksgiving Day this year, and for that we are grateful! Heavy amounts of natural snow and consistent snowmaking allowed Breckenridge and Keystone Ski Resorts to open early this year. Copper Mountain opens Friday 11/16/18. A-Basin opened 10/19/18 showcasing many base area renovations, partially in expanded dining options. If you have never had a Bacon Bloody Mary at A-Basin, add it to your bucket list!!
My Thanksgiving tradition is skiing & eating. I’ll be hitting the slopes at Breckenridge this year and enjoying the amazing early season powder, followed by dinner Sevens in the Grand Lodge on Peak 7. The grand feast includes butternut squash bisque, hazelnut stuffing and roasted brined turkey. YUMMY!!! For more Thanksgiving Day dining options, check out the Summit Daily the week of Thanksgiving for dining specials and reservations.
If you are looking for something other than skiing and eating, sign up for the Frisco Turkey Day 5K. The first annual Turkey Day 5K is open to all ages and takes place on the Summit County Recreation path and town of Frisco side streets. All racers are invited to make a non-perishable food donation at the event, which will benefit the Family and Intercultural Resource Center of Summit County. The Frisco Adventure Park tubing hill and Nordic center is now open for the season. Sleigh rides with spectacular mountain views around the Peninsula Recreation Area and down scenic trails depart from the Frisco Nordic Center.
With so much to do and so much to look forward to this winter, its easy to be grateful.
Attend Backcountry Skiing 101 at Colorado Adventure Guides in Breckenridge. It’s a free 2 hour clinic with experienced back country ski guides.

Join the dance at Breckenridge Ski Resort where there will be FREE concerts and giveaways. Pro riders Red Gerard and Jules Marino will hit the mountain, too!
If you haven’t seen the news on social media or heard the word on the streets, I’ve got you covered. Keystone and Breckenridge both opened early this season. That is big news for Summit County. This has been the first time in a LONG time that any of the Vail Resorts actually opened earlier then the expected date. 11/7/18 was the lucky date and boy was it a treat for all the people living up here! I think it was the first opening day where I actually made it in time for spot in the main lot at keystone. . .even though I arrived after 10 am. But it gets even better. Free coffee and homemade granola bars awaited me as I waltzed onto the gondola without a care in the world. Opening day?! That is seriously unheard of!! I certainly enjoyed the change of pace 🙂
The good news with the early opening is both mountains opened with more terrain then usual so even the busy weekends are filled with great skiing and manageable lift lines. What does that mean for the winter? Well, for one we are off to a great start compared to last year. That makes for great conditions (November-April) for all of our guests coming for the early and late seasons. If you were waiting to see how the winter was looking before booking your trip. . I think it’s safe to say its going to be a good one! BOOK IT
Make sure to check out all of Sky Runs accommodations if you need a place to stay while you are here. They have amazing properties and just so happen to be one of our partners!

If you missed out on Breckenridge’s or Keystone’s opening day have no fear. Beaver Creek, Vail, and Copper are all still set to open soon. Go out and get yourself some early season turns and join us for some fun in the mountains. ENJOY
Show up early to join the before party. They’ll be celebrating at the Gondola Plaza with music, giveaways, treats and Ripperoo- Keystone’s own pup mascot! BTW; Keystone Resort was voted BEST OF SUMMIT 2018 in the resort catagory!
Get Stoked Movie Series premiers “Hoji” on Saturday 11/10, from 5:30 pm to 10 pm at Warren Station at Keystone. Matchstick Productions’ ski flick featuring Eric Hjorleifson is gonna be rad, because the man is radical. Click here to view the trailer.

The hearthstone also was chosen by the locals of Summit as the top 3 places for a date night as well. My personal opinion was not too far off 🙂 Check out Summit’s Best of 2018 for ALL the locals favorite spots.
Keep the hearthstone in the back of your mind if you have winter plans this year and are in Breckenridge with a loved one.
Buy tickets online! Note: When you click TICKETS a list of local charities pops up. Choose the charity you’d like to give to; each is a gift of $25.00.
Here’s what to expect…
The 3 Outlet villages are within walking distance; but, if you’d rather ride we are happy to pick you up! We’ll be doing loops (with 2 stops) at each village so you can heft your bags on board and rest up for the next shopping spree. Click here for a map of the Outlets’ locations.
I suggest making a list; this is going to be the ideal time to shop for Christmas, birthdays and anniversaries. One store manager told me the deals during the Extravaganza are often better than Black Friday! Check out all the shops at the Silverthorne Outlets ahead of time to get ideas and make a game plan.
Gentlemen, this party is for you, too!
Here are several reasons to buy a ticket and join in.
